Are These Your Sheets or Ours?

ARI (she/her) and her partner, BOND, (they/them) spend their first night together as a couple. As they settle into their usual sleeping positions, they realize they can’t get comfortable without disturbing each other. They become battling bodies on the mattress, flowing in and out of comfortable sleep and awakened annoyance.
 

Ari soon finds herself in a dream where she attempts to dance with Bond, but the two are misaligned. She runs away, finding Ka (he/him), with whom she dances in perfect step. While the performance between Ari and Ka is romantic, the fantasy is fleeting. During their dance, she comes to a bittersweet realization about love and compatibility. “Are These Yours Sheets Or Ours?” is a short dance film that explores the discomfort that relationships ask of us, before we can truly let love and comfort in.
